Teressa fell in love with veterinary medicine after getting an afterschool job with a busy NoVA animal hospital. After a kind, generous client offered to pay for her schooling, she graduated from North Virginia Community College and obtained her LVT license in 2002. Primarily working in general practice, she also did relief work with a board-certified veterinary surgeon. After 16 years, she took a hiatus to stay home with her two boys. Now that her boys have grown and are moving on to college, she couldn’t wait to get back into the veterinary profession. Teressa has been breeding and showing Mini Silky Fainting Goats for 15 years. Mini Silkies are a small, fun, friendly breed – it’s like having a herd of ruminating Golden Retrievers wandering around your yard! They also share their home with feline friend, Bowie, and three large dogs: Quinn, a Mastiff/Boxer mix; Morgan, a Rottweiler; and Bayou, an adorably chonky yellow Labrador. In her free time she enjoys being way too competitive on family game nights, and attempting any cookie recipe that involves any form of chocolate.
